Women, Law and Development
1994
In 1994, in preparation for the 1995 Beijing Women’s Conference, Women, Law and Development International convened a strategy meeting with more than 100 women human rights activists and academics from 47 countries in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. From October 24 to 28, 1994 they met to assess recent gains and to plan future strategies in the continuing struggle for the protection and promotion of the human rights of women. The resulting analysis and recommendations form the core if a “women’s rights agenda” presented here as a guide for future action to make rights real in women’s lives.
